Park Cottage offers exceptional, person-centred support for individuals navigating mental health challenges, creating a vibrant, empowering environment right in the heart of Midlothian.

Here’s what makes our Park Cottage service stand out:

Personal Growth and Recovery

Our dedicated team delivers 24-hour, tailored support both within Park Cottage and out in the wider community. We use the Wayfinder model, working in collaboration with Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership, to ensure each person’s journey is guided with clarity, coherence, and purpose.

We focus on nurturing life skills, boosting confidence, and helping individuals set and reach meaningful personal outcomes. We champion empowerment, independence, and the recovery journey, working with each person to overcome challenges and build a life they are proud of.

Positive Wellbeing Supports

Wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do:

  • Peer Support, with team members who bring lived experience to create genuine connection
  • Emotional check-ins, self-care strategies, and resilience-building activities
  • Social inclusion, through workshops, and both individual and group activities
  • Practical life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and managing tenancy responsibilities. These supports help individuals lead fulfilling, independent lives and foster a strong sense of belonging

Facilities while staying at Park Cottage

Supported people hold their own tenancy agreements in a shared home accommodating up to eight individuals. This includes:

  • Your own private bedrooms with en-suite toilet
  • A communal lounge, well-equipped kitchen and laundry room, and dining room area
  • Shared bathroom, shower room, and tranquil garden

Supported to Move Forward

You will be supported to move on from Park Cottage, and the team can provide up to 6 weeks of ‘move-on’ support at your new home. We identify your strengths and build on them, breaking down barriers to independence in preparation for moving on to your own tenancy in the community. Our goal is to make that transition seamless and successful.

Sector Leading Quality, Backed by Inspection

In our most recent unannounced inspection (June 2025), the Care Inspectorate highlighted:

  • Staff demonstrated “genuine warmth, empathy and professionalism,” making a profound difference in supported people’s lives (careinspectorate.com)
  • The service received outstanding ratings ‘Excellent’ for Wellbeing, and ‘Very Good’ across leadership, staff team, care and supporting planning (careinspectorate.com)

Park Cottage proudly delivers a dynamic combination of high-quality housing support, wellbeing enhancement, and structured recovery of planning.
