Midlothian Mental Health and Resilience Service

Description

Age group
Area (local authority)

The Mental Health and Resilience Service (or MHARS for short) is a compassionate wellbeing support service covering Midlothian. It’s designed to offer rapid practical and emotional support to people aged 18 and over experiencing distress and feelings of overwhelm.

If you are experiencing distress such as financial worries or the breakdown of a relationship, or if you feel like you’re approaching an emotional crisis, perhaps we can help.

How does it work?

Our conversation with you will focus on your skills, talents and strengths. Our team will support you to reduce your distress and take practical steps to manage future distress. Our support will be designed around your needs and choices. We will work with you to find out what matters to you and support you to identify goals. If you want, we can tailor your support to be inclusive of the people in your life, ie, carers, family, friends and partner agencies. We’ll support you to develop wellbeing plans and strategies that will enable you to improve your wellbeing and realise your potential. We’ll use our local knowledge to connect you into community resources that can support you to access meaningful services and activities.

Accessing support

The service is for people aged 18 and over living in Midlothian. All you need to do is call our freephone number. This is called self-referral.
