Callum's tribute to Paul
Today, we’re paying tribute to our lovely friend and colleague, Paul 💜
Dundee Service Manager Callum Troup says:
“The Dundee Team is saddened to announce that our beloved colleague and friend Paul Kinloch passed away. Paul was the Practitioner and team leader for Dundee Nova and has worked with Penumbra since 2011. Paul meant a lot to us here in Dundee and the wider Tayside team. Paul was passionate advocate for peer support and recovery in Dundee. Through the Peer2Peer training and building long lasting partnerships that have given Penumbra a strong and positive reputation in the city.
“Paul was a wonderful person to work with, highly supportive, he saw potential in everyone he worked with and always went that step further to support them, from the workers he supervised to his line managers. He brought personality every working day, his sharp dress code, humour, and he would lead a sing along in the office to bring spirits up.
“Prior to starting with Penumbra in 2011, Paul was a senior manager for homelessness services in Perth. He established and built-up services that addressed the needs of the community. He achieved high marks with the care inspectorate. He carried over his skills and experiences to Penumbra. This is evident, in 2023 after an inspection by the care inspectorate, Dundee Nova achieved a 6 for the quality of one-to-one support. The highest mark that can be given and this was Paul’s area he led the team on.
Paul saw everyone as an individual with their own story
“Since starting in 2011, Paul has supported over 600 people coming to Penumbra for support for their mental health and wellbeing, he treated them with the dignity and respect they deserved. Paul saw everyone as an individual with their own story. The true impact that he had on people will not be known but these are people right now who are living the lives they wanted through his encouragement.
“Paul had said he loved his career with Penumbra, he had wonderful things to say about his colleagues, managers, and supported people. He showed this passion every single day. He was a wonderful colleague, friend, father and partner. He will be truly missed but his legacy will live on.”
Paul’s friends have set up a go fund me page as tribute to his family. You can find the link here: Paul’s gofundme tribute page
